L.A.'s Most Unique Museum-Quality Homes

Our homes are located in some of the most popular areas of Hancock Park, Miracle Mile, Sunset Plaza, Beverly Hills, West Hollywood and Hollywood Hills. We restore these beautiful homes to their original style, using museum-quality original 1920’s pieces.

More Kind Words...

Dear Dave,

Thank You !!! Your work has made me shed tears of joy. Let me explain...
I googled '20s apartments and clicked on your Art Deco Apartments site. I was just looking for images to put on my 'vision' board. Since I was 12 years old I have always invisioned myself living in a beautiful old L.A. building. After reading many of the quotes, stories, and about your passion fueling your art, instead of your wallet fueling your art, I was in tears.

Thank you for inspiring me to look for a home in a way that it feeds my soul. Thank you for restoring L.A.'s spirit! I'm not an architect or architect-student; for the love of God I'm a 25-year-old fashion student from the San Fernando Valley.
But I would love to volunteer to help restore these beautiful places. Like you, I have a deep love for this city and would very much love to help bring back its spirit.
I truly believe that the spirit of Los Angeles is in her buildings, and in the people who reside there.
                                                                               Eternally Grateful, Brenda

Well... where to begin… I came across your website and while it both interested and inspired I feel that I'll probably find my place elsewhere, not that some your properties aren’t absolutely gems I wouldn’t give a kidney to live in. I'ts just I can't afford them and besides I been feeling a Mid Wilshire studio in one of those Uber deco Buildings. Which begs the question why the hell am I writing you this? Well, I decided to drop you a line for a few reasons. First off being I thought with all the places I’ve seen (dozens) and all the questions I’ve had to dodge (hundreds) it would be a riot to actually be completely honest with a landlord. The second being reading your philosophy and thoughts really struck a cord in me, your ides are ones in the coming times that I hope landlords implement. They are logical, honest and sounder than a first/last and some abstract credit score (or three). I believe in what you do, it’s what makes our country great. That and I think you’d be fun for some conversation on art and life.

I used to walk by your building on Vermont at night and see the beautiful leaded windows lit up and glittering and wonder who owned it and who was lucky enough to live there. And then last year, when my boyfriend and I found ourselves suddenly looking for a new place to live, I happened across your website and I found out that not only do you own that building (and so many others!) but you also restored them yourself...no wonder the building glows! Your love shows. Thank you for cultivating such warmth and beauty.

I also remember that as I browsed around your site more, I realized you are a truly unique individual. I mean, a landlord who actually WANTS to rent to people other landlords run from?? I almost wanted to cry with relief. I can't tell you how much we dreaded telling people that my boyfriend is a musician and he doesn't have a regular job. On top of that, his credit sucks AND my income fluctuates because I'm an actor AND we wanted to get a cat. Seriously, just knowing you exist gave me hope!

Why didn't I apply right then? Well, it's a long story but let me just say...I wish I had! Especially since I could have afforded it easily then. Ah well, live and learn!

In any case, today, in the wee hours of the morning, I found myself back on your website, looking at the photos of your gorgeous apartments (which I seem to do every couple of months or so) and wondering again what it would be like to live in one of them. Then I did something I don't usually do, I clicked on the "Philosophy" link. I don't know why. What I do know is that even though I'd read your words once before, this morning it seemed like you were speaking directly to me. You were reminding me about what is important - staying positive, nurturing creativity, generating good energy. And, while I believe it IS possible to do those things anywhere, you reminded me that the right environment can make a big difference.

So, even though our current lease isn't up until the end of May 2009, here I am writing to you. I guess I mostly wanted to tell you how much I appreciate you and what you are doing...creating spaces and communities where people can not just live their lives but actually THRIVE. And for staying open-minded enough to consider renting to people who might live and think somewhat outside the box. Thank you!                    --Zinnia
